Refridgerator/freezer
One must
regularly clean and defrost the fridge. The fridge doesn’t kill germs, so
cleanliness and the right temperature are very important for preserving food
items.
It’s
recommended to defrost the fridge every two months. Icing makes the fridge
inefficient and it consumes more electricity. Do not use knives or other sharp
items, or force to remove the ice – that’ll cost you. Do not block the
ventilation channels of the fridge.Pull the
fridge out of the wall, and vacuum and wash the backside at least twice a year.
The cooling grid in the back should be cleaned twice a year as well. Also, the
grid on the front can be detached for cleaning.
If you live
in a shared apartment, remember to schedule out defrosting and cleaning the
fridge with your flatmates. Consider others also when doing your
moving-out cleaning.
