Types of Housing
Shared Apartment
Live together – but with your own space. In a 2–3 room shared apartment, every resident has a private room, while the kitchen and bathroom are shared. Women and men are placed in separate apartments, making it a safe and social option.
Individual Shared Apartment
The best of both worlds – privacy and community. Each resident has their own entrance from the stairwell, their own private bathroom, and shares only the kitchen with one other student. Available in Anninportti, Vellikellot, DAS I, DAS II, DAS VII and DAS VIII.
Studio Apartment
Your own private nest. A studio can vary in size and layout – some even include a separate bedroom – but all come with a private bathroom and kitchen. Perfect for students who want peace, independence, and comfort.
One-Bedroom Apartment
More space for yourself – or to share. One-bedroom apartments come in two styles: some have two separate rooms for individual living, while others are designed as family-style homes with a bedroom, living room, and kitchen. Great for couples or small families.
Two-Bedroom Apartment
A real home for student families. These apartments include two bedrooms plus a living room with kitchen or kitchenette. Ideal for families looking for both space and community. Family two-bedroom apartments are available in DAS Kota, DAS I and DAS II – but in limited numbers.
👉 What if there is a specific type of apartment I want?
If you have special preferences for your accommodation, please mark those preferences in the ‘additional information’ -section of your application, or send a brief email to dasaspa@das.fi. You can mention, for example, about allergies, smoking, your religion, if you use or not use alcohol, name of the friend you want to share the apartment with etc.
DAS tries to arrange people with the same interests in the same apartment but we cannot promise that we can fulfill all your wishes.
We ask for your preferences in the application but due to the large amount of applicants and limited amount of rooms/apartments it is not always possible to get the option you wished for. For example, you may be offered a room in a three-room apartment instead of a room in a two-room apartment, which you may have wished for. If you receive a housing offer like this, it means that your first choice was no longer available and this is the best available room/apartment for you.
